Alexander Šurkala is a renowned cinematographer from Czechoslovakia based in Prague, celebrated for his unique visual storytelling and innovative approach to cinematography. With over two decades of experience in the film industry and after studies at the Film and TV School of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague, Alexander has collaborated with a diverse range of filmmakers across various genres, both in the Czech Republic/Slovakia and internationally. His work as cinematographer, 2nd Unit DOP, Splinter Unit DOP and a camera operator spans feature films, documentaries, and commercials, directed by acclaimed directors such Robert Eggers, Johan Renck, Michail Idov, Petr Zelenka, David Ondříček, Juraj Herz or Matěj Chlupáček. Alexander’s international experience makes him a perfect candidate for US and UK productions made in Europe, on which he’d love to focus on now.
