More than a half-century after its design, an original Henning Koppel silver treasure finally came to life. In 1954, the legendary Danish modernist, Henning Koppel (1918-1981), designed the spectacular piece 1041 for an exhibition celebrating Georg Jensen's 50th anniversary. However, unsatisfied with the finished result, Koppel destroyed the piece. We wanted to bring it back to life but the Georg Jensen design team didn't have much information to go on. Sifting through the archives, the original sketch was found and the only detail accompanying the informal, original sketch was the final product's projected weight. By using modern 3D modelling tools and working alongside an experienced silversmith they managed to fill in the blanks and make a complete plan for the design.
