Since 2002 Saxo Bank is releasing its 10 annual Outrageous Predictions for the year ahead. It has become an industry stable that is attracting significant media attention and recognition. Meant as a contrarian view against the consensus, it is a conversation started that draws attention to unlikely but not impossible market events.
Over the years we have developed a signature caricature illustration style for the publication that is meant to visually set this piece apart from our own identity but also from typical financial category cues - a unique look that stands out and cuts through.
The release of our Outrageous Predictions is the biggest PR event of the year drawing massive media attention and giving Saxo huge visibility and free brand exposure. The headlines and caricatures are deliberately chosen as attention-grabbers to maximise media appeal.
In terms of marketing, the annual OP launch is supported by a broad social media campaign, event collateral, and communication to leads and existing clients vie email and in platform notifications. Traffic is funnelled to a landing page optimised for engagement, allowing page visitors to vote for their favourite prediction as well as make and own prediction. This way we not only use the initiative for PR and event purposes, but also capture pre-leads and built a retargeting pool for digital marketing.
