Grooming Hides Behind Harmless
A new national campaign by Bravehearts, created pro bono by Engine Group, Wavemaker, and partners, aims to educate parents and caregivers on how grooming—the early stage of child sexual abuse—often hides behind seemingly harmless behavior. With over one in four Australians affected and 79% of perpetrators known to their victims, the campaign seeks to raise awareness, reduce stigma, and provide practical tools to recognize and stop grooming early. Supported by extensive pro bono media valued at $3 million, the emotionally powerful campaign launched June 1, 2025, and uses haunting visuals to start vital conversations about protecting children from abuse.
