A prototype for Child of Now
A prototype for Child of Now, Phorias' collaborative install with artist Robert Walton and Arts Centre Melbourne, opened for an exclusive weekend in February. The first iteration of this mixed reality experience asked visitors to engage with what the future will look like for children born now, in 2022. Visitors could even see a holographic version of themselves, replayed back to them Virtual Reality! Future versions of the experience will bring together thousands of these holograms to represent who we are now, and who we might become. “The aim of this project is to create a rare and extraordinary moment in the life of Victoria for people to consciously empathise with future generations who will inherit our culture, customs and built environment and face the challenges of climate chaos caused by generations living now,” says Walton Credits: Robert Walson & Arts Center Melbourne www.phoria.com.au
