The Victims' Robe
MEDIATOR: A unique tribute in the attire of the lawyers representing the civil parties. On January 9, 2023, the appeal trial of MEDIATOR commenced. On May 24, 2023, lawyers Jean-Christophe Coubris and Anne-Laure Tiphaine will argue for the condemnation of Servier laboratories for deception. The victims of Mediator, many of whom are elderly and suffering from serious illnesses, struggle to attend the weekly hearings dedicated to them. The two lawyers representing the civil party find this absence inconceivable. In the first instance, they had taken the initiative to display a photo mosaic of all the victims represented by the law firm. For this appeal trial, they have decided to pay tribute to them by having the names of the 2,500 direct victims they defend embroidered inside their robes. Worn since January 9 at every weekly hearing of the Mediator, these robes provide a symbolic presence and a poignant tribute to all these victims, some of whom have unfortunately passed away.
