Training Season
In the music video for "Training Season," Dua Lipa takes viewers on a striking, symbolic journey that explores the emotional exhaustion of dating and self-discovery. Set in a minimalist, almost surreal group therapy environment, the video uses repetition, striking symmetry, and subtle chaos to mirror the frustrations of modern romance. Directed by Vincent Haycock, the film pairs high fashion and polished choreography with emotionally raw expressions to reflect Dua's demand for more from potential partners. As the therapy session unravels, so does the constructed calm around her — visually echoing the song’s demand for emotional maturity. The production blends cinematic aesthetics with psychological themes, using light, architecture, and performance to capture the song’s mix of vulnerability and empowerment. The result is a bold and stylish visual statement that reinforces Dua Lipa’s evolving artistic persona and the feminist messaging behind her new era.
