FDJ, France’s leading lottery operator, and BETC Paris have launched “Grandma’s Secret,” a mockumentary-style true crime campaign for the LOTO platform, building on their 2023 “It Doesn’t Only Happen to Others” insight that winners often keep their lottery wins secret. The campaign turns an ordinary Sunday lunch into a suspenseful family investigation, complete with interviews, surveillance-style footage, and absurd clues—except the “crime” is a lottery ticket win. Directed by Hafid Benamar and produced by SOVAGE, the launch includes a 2-minute Netflix-style trailer, character-driven digital content, and a 15-minute podcast narrated by French journalist Christophe Hondelatte. The campaign, France’s first to achieve a 3-star EcoProd Label, continues the long-running saga that has historically delivered record-breaking results, boosting play incentive (+12 points) and brand consideration (+8 points).
