A New Easily Accessible & Well-organized Site
The Innovation Fund is a public fund that, through investments in ideas, knowledge, and technology, seeks to create value for Denmark. With this goal, they invest large sums - last year to the tune of 1.4 billion. DKK - in innovation, research, entrepreneurship, and other solutions. The Innovation Fund continuously distributes funds to hundreds of hopeful entrepreneurs, PhDs, researchers, and companies a year. All to support the most relevant and best strategic research and innovation projects for the benefit of society. These may be innovation projects, which often have a higher risk profile than what other funds would normally dare to invest in. We were tasked to make their site more current, create better wayfinding for applicants who had previously been granted funding, and who now want to make use of, for example. the document archive, for onboarding new hopeful applicants who are facing the need to start the application process. At the same time, there was a need for better online support for the Innovation Fund's staff, who should be able to find documents quickly when applicants called. Therefore, we were given the task of developing a new solution that made reservations for the two problems in particular. Solution All research showed that the Innovation Fund needed an easily accessible and well-organized site. The solution became a Drupal-based CMS system, where we focused on a better categorization so that employees can quickly find the necessary documents. To give applicants a better experience of the site, we worked a great deal with usability and storytelling. We wanted to make it easy and inspiring to navigate the site and among other things developed a whole new visual identity that fits with the traditional formats, just as we use colors to thematize the navigation. The site is also fully responsive on mobile and tablet - and also in relation to quick response on the site. Result Throughout the phase, we worked closely with the Innovation Fund and its stakeholders throughout the process. It has formed the basis for trust between the Dwarf and the Innovation Fund and made it possible to break with old habits and traditions. On the technical side, we developed a solid and structured CMS solution with a strict visual design. A solution that solves all the demands of both employees and applicants. More holistically, we have managed to challenge the identity of the Innovation Fund and created an innovative site that benefits all of the fund's stakeholders. https://dwarf.dk/
