Modern Headless Educational Platform
The demand for STEM-educated (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) workforce is increasing, but enrollment in STEM programs is not following suit. STEM subjects make up only a few hours in primary school, and teachers are not always trained in STEM disciplines. Some students perceive STEM subjects as difficult, theoretical, and linguistically heavy, making them feel distant from their world. For teachers, STEM teaching can be preparation-intensive and require high-level subject expertise. LIFE is a Danish non-profit commercial foundation. LIFE’s mission is, among other things, to strengthen children’s and young people’s interest and ambitions to study and delve into science and technology, regardless of their background. LIFE’s educational programs play a central role in this by offering opportunities to develop and provide engaging and varied educational courses, encouraging students to actively engage with STEM subjects. This is crucial for enhancing students’ overall interest in STEM disciplines. LIFE therefore sought a platform that could be visually appealing and engaging for students. A platform that could facilitate active, varied, multimodal, and contemporary STEM teaching, while also assisting teachers in the preparation and delivery of lessons. The platform needed to function within a scientific educational context, where teaching involves various working methods such as experimentation, academic reading, modeling, and oral activities. Lastly, LIFE wanted a platform that could accommodate the different needs of both students and teachers, and that could work for all student target groups (currently from 1st grade to 12th grade). LIFE also required a platform that offered a high degree of flexibility in terms of content selection and structure, while still being easy to use in the development process for LIFE’s employees. Furthermore, the platform needed to integrate with LIFE’s existing website, and the solution had to include effective solutions regarding the use and storage of student data. Credits: Agency: Peytz
