New EU rules on political advertising require paid political messages to carry the label 'Politiskt reklammeddelande'. During the Swedish election campaign, RFSL turned that mandatory label into the campaign itself: its posters and social ads placed the label next to the line 'Att få vara sig själv borde inte vara politik' – being allowed to be yourself shouldn't be politics. By pointing out that LGBTQI people's rights are treated as a political question, the required disclaimer became the argument, running across out-of-home and social through the election period.
