Scape reframed student accommodation as a place where meaningful connections happen beyond the classroom with ‘You Had To Be There’, created by Jane Doe Creation. Inspired by everyday moments such as meeting someone in a corridor, sharing a kitchen or turning a late night into an unexpected morning, the campaign highlights the small interactions that can make university feel like home. The campaign extends beyond traditional media through ‘The Hello Effect’, a Scape initiative featuring student welcome door knocks, shared dinners and monthly birthday gatherings designed to encourage everyday connection across its sites.
