Shamballa Jewels wanted to optimize their sales process by involving customers more visually in the design process of their jewelry, this intuitive platform should foster collaboration with retailers worldwide. They had a desire to get closer to their customers and their dealers. It was also Shamballa Jewel's goal to streamline the company's inventory management and online sales with its dealers. A special challenge for Shamballa Jewels was to get the message of customization out to both customers and retailers. Ensuring that a customer visiting a retailer with a large selection of other jewelry brands chooses their brand and not simply from their catalog or window selection. In addition, the goal was to gain more knowledge and data on customers' tastes and preferences, which could otherwise be drowning in communication with the retailer. This data could optimize procurement, sales process, design development, and marketing. The solution that Shamballa Jewels called for was a more visual business process, from customization with the customer to order, production, finance, and logistics. Last but not least, the digital solution should allow Shamballa Jewel's customers to easily visualize changes to their jewelry. Through posting with the customer's lock number, components can be replaced to follow the customer's jewelry and life journey. The solution should also comply with the requirement for ordering in local currency and with the option of markup to the individual dealer. The solution’s first release is based on three platforms, which are largely based on Umbraco / Ucommerce, while the underlying logic is gathered in a common business layer, where Mongo DB is used for data collection from Shamballa Jewels ERP through two-way synchronization. Each platform has its own business focus, but common to all three platforms is the specially developed jewelry designer. The jewelry designer is based on millions of rendered png images that are automatically extracted from a 3D program at predefined angles, printed as single images and placed in a media cloud (Amazon). The entire template system (jewelry models, sizes, combination options, etc.) was developed in Umbraco / Ucommerce. Based on the system's templates, all combinations are rendered in the interface via TypeScript, which makes the jewelry designer very fast when first loaded. By using this solution (Imagemap introduced as W3C standard in 1997), we have made the designer independent of plug-ins and ensured that it can run at very high resolution, regardless of the device used by each retailer. Thus, it is the template system that determines how jewelry can be combined, while information about which components are in stock and how much they cost is retrieved directly from Shamballa's ERP system. Similarly, all orders are also synchronized to the ERP system on which the sales platform is built. The system went live in 2017 with a full roll out in 2018. In early 2019, the public version of jewelry designs was launched. • Antal leverancefejl reduceret med over 80%. Shamballa Jewels. In the first release, the solution should have three platforms for three different audiences: • Customer platform: An in-store solution for the customer for visualizing the jewelery at the dealers. • Reseller Platform: An internal reseller platform where they can set their own prices, place orders and repairs online, and communicate with Shamballa Jewels. • Internal Platform: An internal management system for communicating with retailers worldwide and for sales, production, finance and jewelry delivery. At https://creator.shamballajewels.com Here you can see how the jewelry designer works, but here you can only get a glimpse of a small part of the overall functionality of the solution. Result With the launch of the new platform, Shamballa has achieved the following results: • Resource consumption on sales reduced by over 40%. As everything is visualized online, the solution has freed sellers' time as they can now focus on core tasks and events instead of sending jewelry samples and following up on orders and orders. • Time spent on ordering reduced by over 60%. Dealers and customers all over the world can see real-time inventory and whether the desired piece of jewelry can be produced. This avoids orders for inaccessible jewelery while ensuring far better inventory management. • Number of delivery errors reduced by over 80%. When a piece of jewelery is visualized in the store, you have much better opportunity to avoid misdelivery by verifying that the specially designed piece of jewelery manufactured exactly matches the customer's specifications. • Purchasing and thus inventory management is optimized through insight into the customer's online behavior by over 70%. Customers can save their design wishes, and it is possible to see which jewelery and components are in demand by customers across countries. When the solution was implemented at Shamballa Jewels, digital project manager Sofie Langebæk has stated: “We have worked closely with Compent for the past 3 years to improve our sales process. The new sales platform has optimized our internal processes, external communication and most importantly, the experience for our customers when designing their personal jewelry. We are very pleased with the result! ” Sofie Langebæk, Digital Project Manager. Shamballa Jewels.
