The Third Strike Campaign
The Decarceration Collective came to us with a wish to create a ‘secret weapon’ against the socially unjust “three strikes-law” in many American states. For years, they had been fighting the battle, and they needed a new approach – something to humanize the fates of people locked up for life due to three minor, drug-related offenses. The Third Strike Campaign centers around true storytelling by zooming in on the prisoners and allowing them to speak for themselves – in their own words and voice. Since the campaign launched, the fight really took off. Pusha T. joined forces as his single with Ms. Lauren Hill was released. The Third Strike Documentary premiered at the Cinequest Film Festival in Silicon Valley. And MiAngel Cody, the powerful lawyer behind The Decarceration, has freed more than 50 people from a life in prison. But the fight doesn't end here. Movie trailer experience The campaign launched a while before the related, new documentary about the case, produced simultaneously. So, to support the future launch of the film, the site opens with the trailer. A canvas of stories The prisoner’s stories make out the campaign.
