Dan On The Street
“Dan on the Street,” a segment within the “GRACE 10314” web series, was created to give individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder meaningful inclusion, visibility, and on-the-job media training. Partnering GRACE participants with host Dan Ryan, the series let them interview community leaders while gaining skills in writing, interviewing, filming, and editing. The heartwarming segments bridged the gap between neurodiverse and neurotypical communities, showing that autism represents unique abilities—not limitations. In Season One, the team produced 35 episodes, growing participants’ confidence and skills while giving the foundation major community exposure and inspiring other organizations to modernize their programming. The project’s success led to Season Two being sponsored by Empire State Bank.
