The Tara Ocean Foundation, a public interest foundation dedicated to the world’s oceans, had made huge strides in understanding climate change by studying plankton. But studying the ocean is expensive and funding it can be just as difficult. To keep the funding and research going, we proposed a simple idea – harness the power of the ocean to its advantage. Partnering with the Tara Foundation, FRED & FARID created a custom water turbine that powers a computer dedicated to mining bitcoin.
