Chefstories
Dynamic Frame produced Chefstories, a cinematic series for Valser that celebrates the emotional and cultural dimensions of food across four Swiss locations. Directed by Maximilian Speidel with DOP Rokas Šydeikis, each episode explored a different culinary facet: Zurich’s urban fine dining, Vals’ regional craftsmanship, Lugano’s Mediterranean produce, and Geneva’s city energy. Using a Documentary+ approach, the team captured real chefs, kitchens, and dishes with a small, mobile crew, blending documentary authenticity with poetic framing. Central to the series, water served as a metaphor for emotion, connection, and transformation, linking chefs, ingredients, and moments of care. Speidel emphasized patience, intimacy, and natural rhythms, while producer Jeanna Koba highlighted how collaboration and constraints fueled creativity. Chefstories delivers branded storytelling that feels like cinematic essays—fluid, sensory, and deeply human—demonstrating that authenticity and artistry can thrive even on modest budgets.
