Škoda Auto University (ŠKODA AUTO Vysoká škola, ŠAVŠ) is a private university in Mladá Boleslav, founded in 2000 by Škoda Auto. It is the only higher-education institution in the Czech Republic founded by a large multinational company. Its motto, "Study & Work", sums up the model: bachelor's, master's and MBA studies that combine economics, technical and IT education with hands-on practice tied to the carmaker, including a teaching centre at Na Hejdovce built like a small factory. Classes run at the Na Karmeli education centre in Mladá Boleslav and in Prague. Over 25 years the school has grown from a mainly economics-focused college into a modern university. Under rector Pavel Mertlík (2015–2024) its study programmes grew from four to eight and specialisations from 11 to 23. It joined the Czech Rectors Conference, and in January 2024 it became the first private, non-university higher-education institution in the country to receive institutional accreditation. In September 2025 it marked its 25th anniversary with the book "25 Years in Stories", which tells its history through Škoda Auto, the KOVO trade union, academics, alumni and students.
