Extra Time with Nature
The new social-first campaign aims to bridge the gap between amateur footballers and nature, addressing the UK's low ranking in connectedness to the natural world. Led by foraging expert Jamie Quince-Starkey and Sheffield United midfielder Tom Davies, the initiative brings players from Field Lane Football Club closer to nature by incorporating foraged ingredients into their matchday meals. A newly released film on TikTok and Instagram captures the duo harvesting oyster mushrooms, nettle seeds, and mugwort to create handmade vegetarian pies for the team, blending football culture with sustainability. The campaign highlights the hidden natural world just beyond the touchline, inspiring players and fans to rethink their connection to nature.
