The Lovechild of Jazzhouse and Global
Emotions were running high and it was clear from the get-go that a lot was at stake when Jazzhouse and Global announced their plans to join forces and become Copenhagen's new, unified venue for experimental contemporary music. We approached the brand identity assignment as carefully as a matchmaker might handle the union between two like-minded but also entirely different individuals. Making sure to bring out the best of both parties meant merging the outgoing, festive vibes of Global with the more introvert and cool energy of Jazzhouse. What emerged on the other side of that union was a daring and confident lovechild named Alice who - with a vibe and look all of her own - is sure to create a stir on the Copenhagen music scene. The graphic design for Alice reflects her heritage - the focused dryness of Jazzhouse and the unbridled festivity of Global. Drawing inspiration from Japanese vinyl aesthetics, a so-called obi strip on the left side keeps it all in check and satisfies the dedicated music lover with easily accessible information. Knowing the ferocious appetite for knowledge of the prototypical Alice fan, the website has a fairly unusual horizontal take on navigation - thereby allowing a large amount of information to appear simultaneously on one page.
