The Woman Who Walked Soho
Newly appointed IPA president and BBH CEO, Karen Martin, has launched a bold initiative to restore creativity at the heart of advertising. In her debut address, delivered through the BBH London-produced film The Woman Who Walked Soho, Martin highlights industry challenges, including short-term thinking, AI over-reliance, and the need to reconnect with human creativity. Her vision focuses on four key initiatives: bringing creative directors onto the IPA Council, launching the IPA Creative Essentials Certificate to train emerging talent, expanding BBH’s Barn programme to increase diversity, and introducing a new Creative Award within the IPA Effectiveness Awards. Martin’s agenda signals a powerful shift towards celebrating and protecting creativity in advertising.
