Calgary Foundation’s 2024 Holding it, Together report, created by Daughter, transformed the organization’s annual quality-of-life survey into a tactile, emotionally resonant piece reflecting a year of rising costs, mental-health strain, and a deepening housing crisis. Designed with a raw, resourceful aesthetic, each printed copy featured a unique handcrafted cover made from recycled and found materials, symbolizing how Calgarians were piecing life together amid limited means. Inside, bold photography, visual metaphors, and stark typography brought urgency and humanity to otherwise abstract data, while an interactive microsite extended the experience digitally. The result was a deeply felt piece of communication that tripled engagement compared to the three-year average.
