If You Can’t Drive Your Body, You Can’t Drive Your Car
The campaign educates Canadians about the risks of driving after consuming edibles by flipping the usual fear-based anti-drug approach and instead highlighting relatable moments of impairment, using everyday tasks—like tying shoes or reaching for a snack—as examples of how edibles can subtly but significantly affect coordination. While cannabis use has evolved since legalisation, edibles remain unpredictable due to their delayed effects, often leading people to underestimate their impact. The work uses humour and familiar human missteps to reinforce a simple safety message: if you can’t confidently control your own body, you shouldn’t be behind the wheel. Through a series of short films portraying people fumbling through simple actions after consuming edibles, the campaign encourages Canadians to plan ahead and choose safe transportation, delivering a modern, culturally aware reminder that impaired driving remains a serious risk even in an era where cannabis use is normalised.
