They continuously exceeded expectations.” - Matt Walker, Founder & CEO DayPoint is a unique iOS application that made use of an engaging interface and time-tracking algorithms to help users practice “Timefulness”—mindfulness about how one spends their time. This novel use of users’ activity data led to a successful launch on the iOS app store. Product Goals Conceptualizing, designing, and high-fidelity wireframing Prototyping and developing the CompleteOR web application The Challenge DayPoint is a native iOS application that helps you track where your time goes. By simply entering locations where a user spends their time, DayPoint can keep track of how their day is spent. In addition to calculating the time you spend at home, at work, or at the gym, DayPoint reports the time you spend walking, commuting and sleeping. It then offers various graphical ways to visualize your data and make meaningful insights as to where the time goes. The server-side was built using Ruby on Rails and a Postgres database. Goji Labs leveraged multiple graphics libraries in order to provide engaging and rich interfaces to explain the data collected and provide detailed granularity into time data analytics for true ‘time nerds’ (like us.) Goji Labs also developed proprietary algorithms to calculate users’ sleep patterns, daily commutes, and travel time. The Outcomes In addition to creating a rich and immersive interface that helps people practice ‘Timefulness’, Goji Labs developed complex algorithms based on activity data and launched this in the App Store.
