To promote Final Fantasy XIV’s new expansion Dawntrail, the campaign aimed to broaden its audience by infusing Western themes and humor into a faux travel concept that reimagined the game world of Tural as a vacation destination. The team created a rich visual and editorial toolkit inspired by the game’s environments and culture, rolling out a multi-phase campaign that included teaser content, social and out-of-home assets, and a travel-themed website. Central to the effort was actor Rhys Darby, portraying an enthusiastic yet clueless tourism official in the “Board of Turalism” video series, blending in-game lore with real-world comedy.
