The Forty-Seven %
Sky Broadband has unveiled "The Forty-Seven %," a campaign celebrating women gamers ahead of the Women’s Esports Final, the culmination of its Women in Gaming 2024 initiative. Highlighting the statistic that 47% of UK gamers are women, yet only 5% are professional gamers, the campaign seeks to inspire change and improve opportunities for women in gaming. A central feature is a squad photo of 47 women gamers, including influencers, everyday players, and supporters like England Lioness Rachel Daly and artist Lady Leshurr. Directed by Miranda May, the campaign includes a two-minute social film showcasing the photo's creation. The initiative, created in partnership with McCann London and Guild Esports, aims to foster inclusivity and diversity in gaming through events like the Women’s Esports Final, taking place November 9th at Sky’s London HQ. This marks the final activation of Sky Broadband’s Women in Gaming program, which also tackled online abuse with the #NoRoomForAbuse campaign.
