Creating a Website that Looks Like it Was Built in the 70s
When Gwen Burton, publisher of the New York “zine”, brown-rice magazine, approached The Bureau Of Small Projects, the Creative brief was simply: Create a website that looks like it was built in the 70s. What’s not to love about that. So The Bureau Of Small Projects drew heavily on the gloriously Kitsch typography of the period and made sure to have plenty of fun with the layout, design elements and crazy parallax animations. And yes, the mis-registered images, low-res graphics and occasional glitches are intentional. After all the internet was really in it’s infancy in the 70s!
