Flins: Nocturne Sentinel
This Genshin Impact character trailer introduces Flins and opens with a hand-drawn, cel-animated sequence, a deliberate break from the game's usual 3D look. HoYoverse brought in Giant Ant to make that segment from the publisher's own script, storyboards and audio. The team painted an explosive world of fireballs and crackling electricity around the character, aiming for a balance between anime precision and loose, expressive brushwork. Illustration, frame-by-frame animation, clean-up and compositing were all done in-house before the sequence was cut into the full trailer, released at the end of September 2025.
