The Polite Tourist Bouncer
The "Polite Tourist Bouncer" campaign, orchestrated by social media agency Kubbco, kicked off in October 2023 with a mockumentary-style film featuring Hugi, Icelandair’s ‘polite bouncer’, tasked with managing tourists' stopovers. This phase aimed to spotlight Icelandair’s stopover offering, allowing travelers between European and North American destinations to stay in Iceland at no extra cost. In the subsequent phase, Hugi returned in a new social media video titled "The Returning Stopover Tourist", where a business traveler's work trip seamlessly turned into leisure, emphasizing the allure of Iceland's natural beauty. Accompanied by an image series across Instagram and YouTube, the campaign showcased how Icelandair’s stopover offer extended to return business travelers. Notably, the campaign's success was evidenced by a significant increase in stopover bookings and positive feedback, affirming its effectiveness in capturing audience engagement and driving bookings.
