Brand Identity & Website Design
Kold College is a modern educational institution in Funen, which extends widely in both subject areas and student types, as they offer business and secondary education for young people. With the ambition to include the entire school's narrative in their digital communications, Kold College contacted us with the desire to rethink its brand identity and website. We have therefore designed Kold College's new digital expression so that it authentically communicates the students' experience of going to school and in a language that suits the young target group. When Kold College contacted us, it was from an acknowledgment that their brand identity no longer matched the everyday life that students and staff experienced at the school. Therefore, in collaboration with Cold College, the ambition was to ensure that the school's visual communication drew an authentic portrait of the school life. Based on this ambition, we chose to take on fieldwork at the school to gain a thorough insight into what life looks like for the more than 900 students and 135 employees at Kold College. Through a design sprint, interviews, and observations we gradually gained an insight into the students' everyday lives. We were in the food court together with the farmer students and got sweat on the forehead from making the bearnaise with the chef students. Through these experiences, we learned that students are more likely to identify with their own subject areas rather than under one umbrella of Kold College's many subject offerings. This led to important strategic decisions that the subject areas now constitute the main elements of the school's visual communication - both digitally and physically at the school. https://en.gejststudio.com/
