The Eyes
For the 28th European Week for the Employment of People with Disabilities, LADAPT and BETC Paris launched The Eyes, a campaign addressing workplace discrimination against people with disabilities, despite increased awareness following the 2024 Paralympic Games. Disability remains the top cause of workplace discrimination in France, and a 2023 study found that 61% of employees feel it’s challenging to integrate disabled colleagues. BETC’s powerful animated film, illustrated by Renaud Lavency and produced by Capitaine Plouf, follows a young woman with a visible disability, showcasing the emotional toll of being constantly scrutinized at work. Set to an original score by Nicolas Mantoux, the film depicts her overcoming judgmental gazes symbolized by watchful eyes that ultimately impede her professional progress. The Eyes invites the public to examine their biases and support true equal opportunity in the workplace. Broadcast across TV, press, and digital displays in France, the campaign aims to spark reflection on how perceptions of disability impact career growth.
