Customized Data Visualization for Financial Modeling
Overview: OnPlan’s platform provides financial forecasting tools based on Google Sheets, including tailored financial models, data visualizations, integrated workflows, and more functionality. Its platform is differentiated from traditional spreadsheet financial models via its data integrations to ERP and CRM software and its modular modeling capability. Users can upload anything modeled in Excel to the OnPlan platform to incorporate their data into an existing model, which becomes a powerful tool for leveraging insights. Challenge: Momentum was challenged to streamline and improve OnPlan’s existing platform with the vision to enhance usability and incorporate new features and functionality. Our Approach: Applying Strategy To Improve Workflow Modeling. Momentum partnered closely with the founder to understand their business and validate their vision. To dive deeper, the creative agency immersed themselves in financial modeling and forecasting to fully understand business and user needs. They also conducted a usability test to gauge the current state of sheets as well as workflow modeling. Research - Ethnographic User Study Strategy - Workflow Modeling - Requirements Definition Outcome: Re-design with Automation and Personalization. Through workflow modeling and requirements creation, the agency designed for streamlined task flows and increased functionality. This included automation to improve usability, personalization for both platform navigation and data visualization, more intuitive metadata management, and a help & chat function.
