The Great Duane campaign for Optimizor uses Springbok rugby legend Duane Vermeulen as a culturally credible extension of the brand’s “More Protein for Active Dogs” proposition, positioning elite human performance as a metaphor for canine vitality. Rather than treating Vermeulen as a traditional endorser, the campaign embeds him into a broader narrative built around humour, performance language, and South African rugby culture, framing him as a “G.O.A.T” whose discipline and strength mirror the product’s functional benefits. Rolled out across TV, digital, social, print, owned channels, and experiential activations, the work also leaned into real-time content during late-2025 Springbok fixtures, where Vermeulen collaborated with rugby creator Robbie Gillet on short-form social commentary and playful debates about match performance and “greatest of all time” status.
