Pierce’s Pledge, a nonprofit dedicated to keeping children safe during custody disputes, partnered with Silverside AI to launch “Lawyer That Cares,” a generative AI-animated PSA aimed at family law attorneys and their clients. The film shows a child witnessing a violent argument between parents during a divorce; the scene escalates to a near-tragic moment when both reach for a gun—until viewers see the weapon has been safely removed because the parents’ attorney signed Pierce’s Pledge. The pledge encourages lawyers to ensure firearms are stored off-site during proceedings, helping prevent harm before a crisis occurs. Using AI tools alongside traditional and hand-drawn animation, the campaign tells this intense story safely and accessibly, with a child’s voice rendered by AI. The initiative highlights practical steps attorneys can take to safeguard families and reinforces that legal professionals can play a critical role in protecting children in high-risk situations.
