This campaign confronts the silence surrounding suicide in Portugal by turning one of the most ordinary social rituals—asking “How are you?”—into a powerful moment for awareness and action. Built on the insight that suicide often goes unnoticed because difficult conversations are avoided, the work encourages people to pause, listen, and ask the questions that are usually left unsaid. Launched alongside 1411, Portugal’s first 24/7 national suicide prevention helpline, the campaign reframes prevention as a shared social responsibility, inviting everyday conversations to become spaces where attention, care, and intervention can truly save lives.
