Daft Punk – Infinity Repeating Music Video
The track "Infinity Repeating (2013 Demo)," featuring Casablancas and the Voidz, is now part of the duo's 'Random Access Memories 10th Anniversary' reissue. The song's music video portrays mankind's evolutionary journey from amoeba to primate to man to robot to a pregnant automaton, resembling a female version of Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo's stage costumes. Directed by filmmaker Warren Fu, the video is a collaboration between London's Picnic Studios and Paris' H5 Studio and Light Studios. Recorded during the sessions for Daft Punk's final album, "Random Access Memories," the now-defunct duo worked with Casablancas in Los Angeles and New York. Although "Infinity Repeating" was considered a highlight, Daft Punk chose to include "Instant Crush" on the album, which became a hit single. However, "Infinity Repeating" remained close to their hearts, described by Casablancas as "a little stranger and more jazz modern" with "island summer vibes." The music video premiered at Paris' Centre Pompidou, with Fu highlighting the collaborative effort between studios in bringing the perpetually walking figure to life. As the final music video for Daft Punk, Fu aimed for simplicity and hypnotism, reflecting the essence of the duo's music.
