Created for TEDx Sydney’s 10th anniversary, the Legacy titles reflect on how humanity preserves its most valuable treasures—from storing knowledge in libraries and art in museums, to safeguarding seeds in the Svalbard vault and capturing lives digitally. Extending this concept, the imagined ISS Legacy X, launched into orbital construction in 2019, serves as a symbolic archive of human achievement and the natural world, prompting reflection on their intertwined future. While priceless in purpose, its ultimate hope is that it will never be needed—a safeguard kept in reserve for generations to come.
