When No One Is There, We Are
For Pride Month 2026, The Trevor Project México and Zurda México launched “When No One Is There, We Are,” a short film and broader campaign focused on LGBTQ+ youth mental health and the reality of isolation many young people face. Rooted in data showing high rates of anxiety, depression, and suicide risk among LGBTQ+ youth in Mexico, the work reframes everyday uncertainty—“I don’t know how to help,” “I don’t know how to ask for help”—as a call for presence rather than perfect answers. Positioned as both a public awareness effort and an emotional intervention, the campaign encourages empathy, listening, and simple human support, especially for those who feel unseen or unsafe in their environments. Released in a culturally significant year marked by the 2026 FIFA World Cup in Mexico, it expands conversations around pride and belonging into mental health and the importance of simply “being there” for someone who might otherwise feel alone.
