Show Ghana Love
A Pride Month campaign uses love as a form of protest by publicly celebrating same-sex affection in a country where queer relationships are criminalised and unsafe to express. A couple transformed prominent public spaces into symbols of resistance, creating a striking visual series that asserts visibility, solidarity, and care for local LGBTQIA+ people who cannot safely show affection themselves. By holding hands, kissing, and claiming space, the campaign directly challenges proposed laws that threaten imprisonment and harsher penalties for queer existence. The project aims to remind queer communities that they are seen, valued, and supported, while calling on the wider society to recognise LGBTQIA+ people as an integral part of the social fabric and to understand love as something to protect and celebrate rather than fear.
