Immersive installation IN TO by Sila Sveta took place this June in the multimedia art space TSEH * by the dreamlaser studio in Nizhny Novgorod. The idea of the installation can be described as “the more you know, the more you discover”. Inspiration for the content is largely based on the SEGA games and what is important is that the sound supports the visual, but does not distract from it. Sila Sveta used eight projectors as well as seven tracking cameras and 21 illuminators. The data from infrared cameras were processed in the tracker program and transmitted to the server in the graphic block of the Notch program. This very tracker program, developed by our chief engineer Stas Zenkov in the TouchDesigner environment, is the main trick of the installation. The content consists of five blocks in two layers: the top one is real-time graphics, the bottom one is prerender. The total duration is just over 15 minutes. The pre-rendered content was played on the Disguise server. Real-time content was created based on data on the position of people according to the following scheme: a server with TouchDesigner captures an image from Optitrack cameras, analyzing it, the tracker program sends the coordinates and a mask to the compiled Notch Block, which is working on the Disguise server and it plays back together five blocks on the timeline. Sila Sveta created an algorithm that allows us to track the movements of an unlimited number of people, instead of several dozen.
