Hoes Of Na
This music video for French alt-pop artist Bonnie Banane, directed by Alma de Ricou and Manon Engel, is a sharp, surreal satire on contemporary wellness culture and the obsession with self-perfection. What begins as a serene yoga class gradually mutates into something unsettling, as the pursuit of balance and flexibility slips into control, conformity and bodily extremity, exposing the darker undercurrents behind aspirational self-care. Bonnie Banane embodies a charismatic yet menacing guru, guiding her followers from calm alignment into a glossy, hypnotic descent where meaning erodes and bodies bend past their limits. Drawing on their fashion backgrounds and signature visual polish, the directors craft a world that is seductive and disturbing in equal measure, using exaggerated style and body horror to critique how ideals of wellness can quietly tip into obsession and authoritarianism.
