Downy's Almost Scandalously Soft Stories
A Spotify-based audio storytelling campaign that repositions fabric softener as an indulgent form of self-care for millennial moms. Built around the cultural rise of romance fiction and “BookTok” audio culture, the campaign uses four short-form, genre-inspired audio stories that mimic popular romance sub-genres while subtly embedding Downy’s product benefits within the narrative. Each story is designed as an immersive, bedtime listening experience, turning everyday laundry care into a sensory escape associated with comfort, privacy, and emotional indulgence. By partnering with romance writers and leveraging a recognizable Hollywood voice, the campaign blends entertainment and advertising in a way that fits naturally into existing listening habits. Distributed on Spotify and amplified through social platforms, it successfully engages audiences in long-form branded audio content while reframing the product as part of a relaxing nightly ritual rather than a functional household step.
