Clampy
AMV BBDO’s first campaign for the DVLA tackles vehicle tax evasion with the introduction of ‘Clampy’, a humorous character inspired by the wheel clamp. Appearing in two 20-second films, Clampy directly addresses motorists who fail to tax their vehicles, playfully dramatising the consequences through everyday mishaps—from being left stuck to a car in awkward situations to missing a child’s birthday party. Directed by Florence Poppy Deary through Biscuit, the campaign brings enforcement to life in a relatable, light-hearted way, reinforcing how easy it is to tax a vehicle online and avoid disruption. Running across social, digital, out-of-home and audio until the end of March, Clampy serves as a memorable reminder to stay on top of vehicle tax.
