Make The World A Refuge
Renowned actor Billie Piper has partnered with Refuge for the "Make the World a Refuge" campaign, which highlights the many subtle and insidious forms domestic abuse can take and the impact on survivors. As a Refuge ambassador, Billie Piper features in a new campaign developed by AMV BBDO, lending her voice to real-life testimonies of survivors while protecting their anonymity. Central to the campaign is a two-minute film directed by BAFTA-winning Georgi Banks-Davies, in which Piper performs these testimonies to give a platform to stories that are often too difficult or dangerous to share. The campaign underscores how abuse manifests in various forms beyond physical violence, such as coercive control, financial abuse, and tech abuse. As abuse evolves, so does Refuge, and this campaign brings awareness to these often-overlooked forms of violence while highlighting Refuge's expanding efforts to support survivors. With one in four women in England and Wales experiencing domestic abuse in their lifetime, Refuge aims to continue providing crucial support to help survivors rebuild their lives.
