SOS Children’s Villages India provides homes for thousands of orphaned and abandoned children, creating a safe environment and a better future. But every year, SOS faces increasing costs and, in 2021, was in severe need of more sizable, stable and continuous donations. The kind of donations you can only get from corporations. We created a new kind of influencer, Chatpat, a 10-year-old kid from the streets, to convince corporations to transform marketing dollars into donations. Our lovable and persuasive Chatpat targeted corporations by recreating their iconic Indian commercials with a clear call to action. And then he posted those re-creations on social media, tagging the brands and CMOs to reach the most influential people in those corporations. 10-year-old Chatpat was immediately loved by everyone and became a celebrity. His army of fans and followers helped spread his message, turning him into a viral success overnight, making him impossible to ignore by corporate brands. With a zero-budget media strategy, he increased brand impressions by 1,506%, raised corporate donations by 61.5% and created an all-new fundraising model for the future of SOS.
