Out & Proud
While classifieds have always been employed to share the announcements of births and deaths, marriages and anniversaries, a large part of the population has always been left out of sharing the happy or sad news about themselves and their lives in these columns. But The Times of India is changing that, forever. The Times of India’s “Out & Proud” is a platform for members of the LGBTQ community to share their triumphs and hopes, their loves and losses, their new beginnings and anything else that they feel like sharing with the world without having to censor themselves. The characters featured in the film represent various aspects of the community. From a gay couple celebrating their 20th anniversary of togetherness, to a mother announcing her son’s transition from male to female, to a bisexual man looking for love, to a lesbian couple announcing the birth of their daughter.
