Bot Ballads
Tinder’s Canadian “Face Check™” rollout, created with GUT Toronto, marked a major push to reduce bots and increase user trust by requiring video selfie verification for nearly all users. Framed as Tinder’s symbolic “breakup” with bots, the campaign extended beyond product messaging into a creative concept: a breakup-themed EP called Bot Ballads, written and performed from the perspective of rejected bots. Spanning multiple music genres and supported by album art and a retro-style infomercial, the work transformed a safety feature launch into a playful, multi-channel storytelling campaign celebrating a safer, more authentic dating experience.
