Developed through L’ÉLOI’s LAB, a programme designed to encourage experimentation among artists on its roster, CONTACT is an abstract mixed-media short film by creative duo Anecdote that explores the anxiety of hyperconnectivity and the uneasy relationship between technology and human presence. Told across three chapters — The Cycle, The Junction and Liberosis — the film moves from the cold repetition of doomscrolling, through moments of raw eye contact and shared discomfort, to a release into colour, nature and childlike freedom. Conceived as both a narrative piece and a creative playground, the project blends live action, 2D and 3D animation, typography, set and prop design, and AI/ML experimentation, using motion-controlled robotic camera work and layered post-production to reshape imagery, rhythm and transitions. The result is a contemplative, sensory work that invites viewers to reconnect with life beyond constant digital stimulation while remaining open to new, unfamiliar forms of innovation.
