Liming With Gran
“Liming with Gran” is a new campaign from Ketchum, in partnership with the University of Cambridge and Genomics England, aimed at fostering health discussions within the Caribbean community. The campaign leverages "liming," a cherished social activity, and features a unique set of handcrafted dominoes designed to spark conversations about health and wellbeing. Directed by Tom Day, the short film stars 84-year-old grandmother Jean and her grandson Tre, showcasing their bond while playing with the dominoes that highlight health topics. The film will premiere at the Genesis Cinema in London during Black History Month before being shared on social media. Twenty sets of the dominoes, inspired by Caribbean culture and the Windrush ship, will be distributed to community hubs and researchers. The initiative also includes an outdoor digital ad campaign in areas with Caribbean heritage. Both Jean and Tre emphasize the importance of these conversations for fostering understanding and support across generations. Overall, the campaign aims to make discussions about genetics and health more accessible and relatable.
