Scranton Branch
A real, permanent Chili's in Scranton, Pennsylvania, built for the fans of The Office. For 20 years the fictional Scranton Chili's of the Dundies, "I feel God in this Chili's tonight" and the Awesome Blossom lived on online, but the chain had never actually had a restaurant there. For its 50th anniversary Chili's opened the "Scranton Branch" in Dickson City on April 7, 2025, as a working restaurant and a 2005-era time capsule: the original early-2000s chalk artist was brought back for a "Welcome to Chili's Scranton Branch" mural, with vintage art, wood panelling and tile tables, a recreated business-lunch booth for photos, Pretzel Day and Race for a Rabies Cure details, and the Awesome Blossom back on the menu for the first time since 2008, served only at this location. A launch film shot like the show's talking-head interviews, PR around the opening, merchandise and a $5 Scranton Marg at every Chili's in the US carried it nationally. #ChilisScrantonBranch trended on TikTok and X for three days. The opening drew about 2,300 media placements and roughly 10 billion earned impressions, and gave Chili's its best opening day and opening week ever. It won the Restaurants and Earned Media categories at the 18th Shorty Awards and a 2026 One Show Merit (Experiential / Brand Installations).
